On September 23, 2023, the Global Citizen Festival witnessed a historic moment as Jungkook, a member of the globally renowned K-Pop group BTS, made his solo debut on the Great Lawn of New York's Central Park. The event was attended by over 60,000 Global Citizens from around the world, who gathered despite the rain to take action towards the world's most pressing issues and enjoy a night filled with hope, celebration, and powerful performances.

Jungkook's performance was particularly memorable, marking the first time a South Korean solo artist headlined the festival. He surprised fans by performing his debut solo single "Seven", which had previously hit No. 1 on the charts. Adding to the excitement, he was joined on stage by an unannounced guest, Latto, who sang her feature on their collaboration.

The festival also served as a platform for Jungkook to tease his upcoming single "3D", featuring American rapper-singer Jack Harlow. This Pop R&B track, set to be released on September 29, is expected to showcase a more mature side of Jungkook, following the success of "Seven". The anticipation for the song was heightened when Jungkook gave fans a sneak peek of "3D" during his performance at the festival.

The Global Citizen Festival, which began in 2012, has grown into the world's largest movement of action takers and impact makers dedicated to ending extreme poverty. This year's festival continued to drive lasting change towards sustainability, equality, and humanity, with a particular focus on eliminating poverty in the Global South and addressing gender inequities worldwide.
