"There's no doubt that we can't sterilize astronauts like we sterilize robots right?  We can't kill all the bugs and so sort of choosing where we go with astronauts on the surface of Mars and protecting other sites on the surface of Mars for science exploration so we're not forward contaminating these sites is part of the strategy," said NASA Administrator Steve Jurczyk. The rover endured 'seven minutes of terror' on its descent.  That's the time it takes to enter Mars' atmosphere and reach the planet's surface. It landed on the Jezero Crater, the site of an ancient lake that existed 3.9 billion years ago. Not long after, the first image came in to NASA.  Perseverance will search for microfossils in the rocks and soil.  An illustration of NASA’s Perseverance rover landing safely on

Nike goes hands-free, launches 'GO FlyEase' shoe

Image
Nike - Go FlyEase   Nike just dropped It's first hands-free shoe and is creating a lot of buzz today.  Nike's new sneaker is called 'Go FlyEase,' and it isn't like anything the company has done before. Nike has been working on the 'Go Flyease' for a few years.  It does not have laces, it snaps around your foot when you put it on so it fits on tight.  That's right, no hands required.  All you have to do is step into the shoe to put it on. The 'Go Flyease' functions by kicking down the shoe to put it on...and kicking it up to take it off.  Instead of laces, a tension band helps keep the shoe in place.  There's also a kickstand to help take it off.   Thinks of it as more of a technological answer to crocs who no doubt has just recently become a player in the sneaker wars. Crocs saw sales explode more than 60 percent last year.  The clogs have been a hit in the covid stay-at-home comfy wear trend and thanks to some strong collaborations with cele
