The Weeknd and Roddy Ricch lead the event's nominations competing in eight categories each.   Taylor Swift won Artist of the Year.  Though Swift won the show's top honor, it was The Weeknd who dominated with multiple wins. The Weeknd (real nameAbel Makkonen Tesfaye), who appears with bizarrely bandaged face, took home the trophies for Favourite Male Artist – Soul/R&B, Favourite Album – Soul/R&B, and Favourite Song – Soul/R&B.
