National ID registration: PhilSys opens Step 1 online to public April 30
Online registration for the national ID system will begin on Friday, April 30. Applicants are encouraged to register online through the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) portal, the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) announced. The PhilSys ID will provide Filipinos and foreign residents valid proof of identity through collection of demographic data of all applicants. Step 1 registration process of PhilSys through the online portal involves the collection of information, including full name, gender, date, and place of birth, blood type, and address. Secure an appointment for Step 2 using the online registration portal. Step 2 process involves going to registration centers to capture your biometrics (fingerprint, iris scan, front-facing photograph) and validation of supporting documents.
