Apple security update: Pegasus spyware invisibly infects iPhones

Image
Iphone 13 Apple revealed its new iPhone but also sharing the headlines with something else. Apple is also releasing an emergency software update for iPhones, iPads, watches, and Macs. That is because there's a new spyware circulating out there in which the attackers can get into your iPhone without even sending you a bogus link. Experts call it a Zero Click Exploit because it does not require a user to click on a link or download a file to allow someone to take over their device. Instead, the spyware exploits a flaw in the iMessage app, allowing others to gain control of the device without the user knowing they've been hacked.  Behind this spyware is called the NSO Group, an Israeli software company that made the so-called 'Pegasus' spyware. Authorities worried it can access the camera, the mic, texts, and emails. This spyware gets in just by knowing your cell phone number. Apple for its parts believes there is not a threat to the vast majority of its users but says

This is Day 1 for El Salvador becoming the first country in the world to accept bitcoin as a legal tender. It's a first for the digital currency.  But despite a relatively smooth rollout plus incentives like $30 in bitcoin for those who sign up, many Salvadorians protested the move.  Using bitcoin to buy a cup of coffee, clothes, haircut, and even the daily newspaper instead of US dollars is now an option to the people in El Salvador as the country becomes the first in the world to adopt the volatile crypto as its national currency.  They can even pay their taxes in bitcoin if they want to and that's possible because a key part of this new law that went into effect at midnight actually requires businesses to accept bitcoin.  It's a big test for bitcoin in the real world, and for Salvadorans.  To get them started the government is giving $30 to people who sign up to an e-wallet called Chivo, which allows for the automatic conversion of dollars to bitcoin and vice versa.  Bu

Beijing says the new rules are necessary to stop growing addiction to what it describes as "spiritual opium."  People under age 18 are now allowed just three hours of gaming a week.  Under the new rules, online game providers can only offer one-hour services to minors from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, as well as on public holidays.  They must not provide any form of gaming service to users who fail to register and log in using their real identifications.  The new rules come amid surging concerns about excessive online gaming hurting young people's physical and mental health and hinders their ability to study.  On Tuesday, the Economic Information Daily reported that addiction to online games has a double negative impact on teenagers' physiology and psychology.  It pointed out that more than half of the country's
