Juan Joya Borja Juan Joya Borja, the Spanish comedian known as El Risitas, which means Giggles, died on Wednesday at the hospital, according to local media. It was reported that he suffered a "sudden relapse" in his health. He had been admitted to the hospital for health problems last year and thanked his fans in March for a fundraising campaign to buy him an electric scooter after his leg was amputated. Borja became known on the Internet as the "Spanish laughing guy" after appearing on national television and going viral for his high-pitched laugh while telling a story. He attended a late-night Spanish television show hosted by Jesús Quintero about 20 years ago and told the host a story about how he worked as a kitchen helper. National ID registration: PhilSys opens Step 1 online to public April 30

Online registration for the national ID system will begin on Friday, April 30.  Applicants are encouraged to register online through the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) portal, the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) announced. The PhilSys ID will provide Filipinos and foreign residents valid proof of identity through collection of demographic data of all applicants. Step 1 registration process of PhilSys through the online portal involves the collection of information, including full name, gender, date, and place of birth, blood type, and address. Secure an appointment for Step 2 using the online registration portal. Step 2 process involves going to registration centers to capture your biometrics (fingerprint, iris scan, front-facing photograph) and validation of supporting documents. Step 3 is the Issuance of PhilSys Number (PSN) and Philippine Identification Card (PhilID card) which will be delivered to your address. The National ID shall be a valid proof of identity

MECQ in NCR Plus extended until May 14, Duterte apologized

President Rodrigo Duterte extended the implementation of modified enhanced community quarantine (MECQ) in in the National Capital Region (NCR) Plus. In his address to the nation on Wednesday night the president retained the MECQ status in NCR Plus that covers Metro Manila, Bulacan, Cavite, Laguna, and Rizal, until May 14. The president explained that the two-week MECQ extension in NCR Plus is based on the recommendation of experts due to the still increasing number of COVID-19 cases. Duterte also apologized to the public for extending (MECQ). “Mga kababayan ko, maghingi lang ako sa inyo ng paumanhin. I’m sorry that I have to impose a longer itong modified enhanced community,”  Duterte said. President Duterte immediately defended his move to extend the MECQ in the aforementioned areas. India has recorded another global record of new coronavirus cases for a fifth day running with more than 352,000 infections reported in the last 24 hours.  The capital is being ravaged at a frightening speed. A senior citizen died Friday morning after fainting while queuing at the community pantry organized by actress Angel Locsin in Barangay Holy Spirit, Quezon City, according to police. According to reports, that 67-year-old Rolando dela Cruz, a balut vendor, fainted while queuing in the community pantry, where there was free food, around 9 a.m. Friday.  Dela Cruz was taken to East Avenue Medical Center but was declared dead on arrival around 9:20 a.m.   Locsin apologized after the community pantry she built to celebrate her birthday went chaotic. Houston police say a deadly car crash involving a Tesla vehicle was believed to have been operating without a driver at the time of the incident on Saturday.  The crash comes amid growing scrutiny over Tesla's semi-automated driving system following several recent accidents. According to local media reports, the 2019 Tesla Model S was moving at a high rate of speed when it failed to round a curve, speeding off the roadway, crashing into a tree, and bursting into flames.  Authorities say there was no one in the driver's seat. After the fire was extinguised authorities found one occupant in the front passenger seat and one in the back.  Tesla and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration did not immediately respond to a request for comment. The U.S Auto Safety Agency said in March it opened over two dozen investigations into crashes of Tesla vehicles, at least three of them recent. Affected by the news that the U.S. Treasury Department will accuse multiple financial institutions of using cryptocurrency to launder money, on the 18th, Bitcoin fell below $52,000 each. Within a day, Bitcoin, which once stood at a high of $60,000, fell more than $10,000, a drop of more than 17%.  Bloomberg said on the 18th that in addition to Bitcoin, other cryptocurrencies also plummeted that day. Calculated by the 24-hour rise and fall, Ethereum plummeted by 20%, Binance Coin plummeted by 17%, and so on. The rapid decline of cryptocurrencies caused heavy losses for long investors. Within 24 hours, more than 470,000 people broke their positions and nearly $40 billion in funds were wiped out.  Several reports attribute this round of decline to market speculation that the U.S. Treasury Department may crack down on money laundering through cryptocurrencies. Shocking footage shows a US Navy destroyer filming what appears to be pyramid-shaped UFO s zipping across the night sky. The now-viral clip was leaked to film director and UFO specialist Jeremy Corbell, who was then able to verify its authenticity by using information from a Pentagon intelligence briefing that delved into Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAP). The start of Ramadan marks the first sighting of a new moon.  Ramadan also marks the start of a month of fasting. Healthy worshippers do not consume any food or water from dawn till sunset. 'Lost Gold City' discovered by Zahi Hawass in Luxor, Egypt

It was found by an Egyptian mission, headed by Egyptian archeologist Zahi Hawass in collaboration with Egypt's Supreme Council of Antiquities. Known as "The Rise of Aten," the city dates back to the reign of Amenhotep III who ruled Egypt from 1391 till 1353 B.C. The city was also once ruled by King Tutankhamun. This ancient city is one of the most important discoveries in the West Bank in Luxor since the discovery of Tutankhamun's tomb,  Zahi Hawass said. The mission, which started in Sept. 2020, unearthed 3 royal palaces of King Amenhotep III and tools of daily life. The Sri Lankan Police arrested the current queen of the Mrs World beauty pageant, Caroline Jurie, and a former model for forcibly removing the crown from the winner of the “Mrs Sri Lanka 2021” pageant in the middle of the coronation ceremony.  Jurie alleged last Sunday that the Sri Lankan Pushpika De Silva was divorced and therefore did not comply with the regulations of the "Mrs. Sri Lanka" beauty pageant, which requires the participants to be married, and proceeded to grab De Silva's crown on stage.  Jurie then gave the crown to the first-runner up, declaring she was the winner.  Mrs. World Caroline Jurie Arrested Jurie, also the winner of the Mrs Sri Lanka pageant in 2019, was arrested along with the former model Chula Padmendra in Colombo on charges of “simple hurt and criminal force” and were later released on bail. On the evening of April 3, Cairo, the capital of Egypt, staged an epic grand ceremony-"The Pharaohs' Golden Parade." The protagonists of the ceremony were 22 ancient Egyptian pharaohs and queen mummies. A golden caravan transferred them from the Egyptian National Museum, which was built in 1858, to the newly-built National Museum of Egyptian Civilization.  The whole process was broadcast live on TV and streaming media. A video of a Grab rider went viral when barangay officials in Barangay Muzon in San Jose Del Monte, Bulacan said that the lugaw (porridge) it delivered is not essential during Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ). On Facebook, Grab delivery rider Marvin Ignacio went live when a female barangay official blocked his entry into Barangay Muzon around 1:30 a.m. The woman can be seen holding the IATF rule about areas in enhanced community quarantine and saying that it cannot deliver because lugaw is not part of essential goods. "Para sa private establishments, essential goods and services. Essential po ba si lugaw? Hindi, kasi mabubuhay ang tao ng walang lugaw.
