Manila Bay's White Sand Beach Temporarily Opens to the Public Today and Tomorrow
The Department of Environment and Natural Resources opened Manila Bay to the public today to see and take a selfie on its new face full of white sand in conjunction with the International Coastal Clean Up Day. In his short speech, DENR Secretary Roy Cimatu said that he is proud that their agency is the lead agency for the said project. That is why it is grateful to all those who support Manila Bay rehabilitation especially the placement of dolomite sand where it will attract many tourists which in turn can help the economic growth from the pandemic. According to Cimatu, he asked Manila Mayor “Isko Moreno” Domagoso to build two modern comfort rooms and the old comfort room will be turned into a “souvenir shop” so that Manila Bay vendors can sell and not lose occupation. The secretary added that the biggest concern now that the agency is making is behavioral change and cultural change so that people know how to properly dispose of waste.
