The Pharaohs' Golden Parade: Egypt moved Ancient Royal Mummies to new Cairo museum in a spectacular parade

On the evening of April 3, Cairo, the capital of Egypt, staged an epic grand ceremony-"The Pharaohs' Golden Parade."

The protagonists of the ceremony were 22 ancient Egyptian pharaohs and queen mummies. A golden caravan transferred them from the Egyptian National Museum, which was built in 1858, to the newly-built National Museum of Egyptian Civilization.  The whole process was broadcast live on TV and streaming media.

In order to stimulate the recovery of tourism after the epidemic, the Egyptian government decided to help these ancient Egyptian kings and queens move to their new place.

At 8 pm, under the guidance of the accompaniment of the military band and the actors dressed as "Cleopatra" and priests, a convoy of dozens of cars and dozens of horses carrying 22 mummies, escorted by police cars, drove out slowly from Egyptian Museum, passing through Tahrir Square to the direction of the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization.

These 22 precious mummies came from the 17th to 20th dynasties of the New Kingdom of Egypt, and their names include the most famous King Ramses II and the famous Queen Hasepsout in Egyptian history. The New Kingdom period can be called the most prosperous and glorious period of ancient Egypt.

There is the famous King Ramses II, who is known as the most famous and powerful ruler of ancient Egypt.

During his reign, he built the most temples and gave birth to the most children.

Also among these mummies is the 18th dynasty Egyptian pharaoh, Tutankhamun. The owner of the famous golden mask.

It is precisely because these mummies are so famous that when the project of "Golden Parade" was first proposed, many people opposed it.

The reason for objection is the so-called mysterious curse of the Pharaoh, which is the legendary phrase, "Those who disturb the Pharaoh's sleep, death will soon come!"

And everyone knows it,

Egypt was really chaotic during this time,

The Suez Canal is blocked, the train has an accident, the fire spreads in Egypt, the building on the Suez Bridge collapses...

But no matter how dissatisfied the opponents expressed their dissatisfaction, this huge parade was finally officially held on the evening of April 3.

Although it was just a move for the mummy, the Egyptian government turned it into a big party.

In order to transport these mummies, Egypt has specially customized a golden caravan with shock-absorbing devices to prevent road bumps. According to the Egyptian archaeologist Zahi Hawass, the special coffin containing the mummies is filled with nitrogen gas, which also plays a protective role.

These vehicles are exquisite in shape, equipped with wings, pharaoh logo and other patterns. The design is inspired by the shape of the wooden boat transporting the pharaoh's body in ancient Egypt.

Along with this parade convoy, the well-known Egyptian symphony orchestra, many singers and artists presented grand performances, which attracted many audiences at home and abroad on TV and live streaming.

A group of performers in ancient Egyptian costumes walked out of the Tahrir Square Museum in Cairo.

This group of performers walked slowly up a long corridor specially opened by the museum.

And behind them were 22 mummies in a special thermostatic car.

Each car looks golden, with the temperament of ancient Egypt,

The identity of the mummy is also engraved on the car.

These 22 golden floats, escorted by a group of performers.

Lined up in a long line, slowly drove to the new resting place.

In front of the car, there are many military bands and artists' phalanxes, performing and making way for the car.

Vehicles drove through Cairo’s most famous square,

Along the banks of the Nile, came to a new resting place.

Then the Egyptian president greeted the pharaohs at the door of the new museum with the sound of salutes.

According to the plan, all cultural relics related to the famous ancient Egyptian pharaoh Tutankhamun will be moved to the Great Egyptian Museum, and the royal mummies will be transferred to the Egyptian Civilization Museum for display. The exhibition conditions in the new museum are better and more suitable for the preservation of mummies.
