Prince Philip condition: Queen Elizabeth's husband in hospital as 'a precautionary measure'
Prince Philip |
Prince Philip has been admitted to hospital. Buckingham palace says the Duke was brought to the King Edward VII Hospital in London last night. The palace says it's a precautionary measure because he was feeling unwell.
Announcing that he's being treated in hospital the palace said,
"His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh was admitted to the King Edward VII Hospital in London, on Tuesday evening. The Duke's admission is a precautionary measure, on the advice of his Royal Highness's Doctor, after feeling unwell. The Duke is expected to remain in hospital for a few days of observation and rest."
While the palace won't say what his symptoms are, reports said it's not covid related. He was also driven there by car and not by ambulance and walked in by himself.
99 years old but judging by how the Duke of Edinburgh looked in front of the cameras last July at Windsor Castle, Prince Philip has remained in remarkably good health.

The palace has done everything they can to keep the Duke and the Queen fit and well during the pandemic. For the best part of the year now the Duke of Edinburgh and the Queen have been isolating together at Windsor Castle riding out the pandemic with a small team working on rotation. They both had their covid vaccinations last month.
The palace is playing down any concern saying Prince Philip is in good spirits as he receives the best possible care.
