It turns out that Tesla, a major electric vehicle (EV) company, has invested $ 1.5 billion in Bitcoin (BTC), a crypto asset.
According to Tesla's annual 2020 report to the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), the company updated its investment policy in January. Based on that, he said he invested $ 1.5 billion in Bitcoin.
Tesla will consider buying and holding digital assets depending on the situation, the report said. Tesla also said it is considering preparing to accept the use of Bitcoin in payments for its products. The next acceptance period is "in the near future."
This month, Musk used an invitation-only audio chat app, Clubhouse, to share his views on crypto assets (cryptocurrency) Bitcoin. At that time, he commented, "I should have bought Bitcoin eight years ago. I think Bitcoin is good at this point, and I support it."
