A PE teacher in Myanmar recorded an entire aerobics video without realising that a military coup was unfolding behind her.

The surreal video, believed to have been filmed on Feb 1, has gone viral.

It is the same day the military detained state counsellor, Aung San Suu Kyi and other senior ruling party figures before declaring an emergency.

A location search shows the teacher was dancing at a roundabout near the Myanmar Parliament.

The woman, Khing Hnin Wai, said she had been filming dance videos at that spot for 11 months.

It is said that a fitness instructor in Myanmar did not know that the coup was at its height when she performed her usual dance workout.

She said it was too late when she noticed the helicopters and military convoys but other military officials were smiling.

However, there are those who criticize that the teacher intentionally created the scene to shine.

But she returned, “I wasn’t dancing to mock or ridicule any organization or to be silly. I was dancing for a fitness dance competition As it isn’t uncommon for Nay Pyi Taw to have an official convoy, I thought it was normal so I continued. ”

The said physical education teacher, Khing Hnin Wai, is now known to be viral in the online world because of her aerobics video taken on the same road where the coup took place.

She has also posted a couple of her past workout videos that took place in the same location.
