Filipino Youtube Star Emman Nimedez passes away after battle with leukemia

The wildly popular Filipino vlogger Emman Nimedez died after losing his battle against acute myeloid leukemia, a type of blood cancer. He passed away on Sunday, August 16, 2020. He was 27 years old.

The wildly popular Filipino vlogger Emman Nimedez died after losing his battle against acute myeloid leukemia, a type of blood cancer.  He passed away on Sunday, August 16, 2020.  He was 27 years old.


Peachy Santos, Emman’s girlfriend, confirmed the news and shared his family's statement in a post on his verified Facebook account. 


The statement read, "Our beloved Emman Nimedez joined our Creator at 1:00am today, August 16, 2020, Sunday. He was with his family during the time of his passing at St. Luke's Medical Center - Quezon City."


"Our family is thankful to everyone who offered prayers and showed support. Funeral details will be announced in the next days. We hope everyone will respect the family's privacy to mourn the passing of Emman. Thank you," the statement added.

Before his death, Emman was rushed to the ICU on August 13,  when he experienced blood complications and kidney failure.


Emman's popularity started in 2017, when he uploaded K-drama parody videos.  His viral video for the popular K-drama "Goblin," titled "Pambansang Oppa | The Summoning #GoblinParody #GoblinPH" now amassed 1.9 million views as of this writing.  

He also uploaded a "Meteor Garden" parody in 2018 titled "METEOR GARDEN (F4 PARODY) | Pambansang Oppa," which already have 1.4 million views.  Emman has now over 2.25 million subscribers on YouTube.


The vlogger announced in May that he has cancer through a YouTube vlog.  He was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia May of this year and has since been undergoing chemotherapy.
