Director Matt Reeves (War for the Planet of the Apes), at the DC FanDome on Saturday in the US, showed a 2-minute video showing Batman's revenge on a group of men in Gotham City.

The teaser of The Batman showed Pattinson's Bruce Wayne as dark and moody, and a little more goth looking far from the playboy version of the past Batman films.

In May 2019, ‘Twilight’ star Robert Pattinson, 33, was cast to replace Ben Affleck as the new Caped Crusader for the trilogy of Batman films.

The film focuses on the formative stages of Bruce Wayne as Batman, so it is necessary that the actor be in his early 30s.

Aside from Pattinson, Zoë Kravitz will also star as Selina Kyle / Catwoman, Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner James Gordon, Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth, Colin Farrell as The Penguin, and Paul Dano as The Riddler.

Like Bruce Wayne, many of the characters are still coming into themselves in this reboot version.  For example, Selina Kyle is not Catwoman yet, both The Riddler and The Penguin are also early into their own criminal careers.

The Batman is set to be released on June 21, 2021, but because the COVID-19 pandemic affected film production, it was postponed to October 1, 2021.
