Bayanihan 2: Signed by President Duterte to help Revive the Country's Economy Severely Affected by Coronavirus (Covid-19)

President Rodrigo Duterte has already signed Bayanihan to Recover As One or Bayanihan 2.
It aims to address the impact of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic nationwide.
In Bayanihan to Recover as One Act, there is P140 billion from regular appropriations and there is P25.5 billion in standby fund, in total, there is P165.5 billion in stimulus package.
In this regard, the Palace first assured the Filipino people that every cent of the funding from Bayanihan to Recover as One Act will go to the proper allocation.
Presidential Secretary Harry Roque said, “Makakaasa ang taumbayan na bawat sentimo ay mabibilang at magagamit po sa tama. Ito po ay makakarating sa mga taong lubhang apektado ng COVID-19 at mga sektor na tinamaan ng pandemya.”
(“The people can hope that every cent can be counted and used correctly. This will reach the people most affected by COVID-19 and the sectors affected by the pandemic,”) said Roque.
Roque added that the government has high confidence that Bayanihan 2 will greatly help in reviving the country's economy.
In the midst of this, a large portion of the funds will go to loans of sectors that have been severely affected by the pandemic.
This includes providing allowances for students in both private and public elementary schools, high schools, and colleges whose family work has been affected due to lockdowns.
The law will also provide health-related responses for the government including a retroactive payment of P100,000 hazard duty pay for health workers; employment of current emergency health workers; risk allowance of public and private health workers caring for COVID-19 patients, and many others.
There is also P40 million set aside for the COVID-19 vaccine.
Fund allocation under Bayanihan 2 also includes the hiring of contact tracers, COVID-19 research, tourism industry, assistance for the agricultural sector, Department of Transportation (DOTr) programs and more.
