Roque further asserted that the killing of Laude also personified the assassination of Philippine sovereignty.
Olongapo Regional Trial Court allowed the early release of Pemberton due to his good behavior shown inside the prison over the past 6 years.
According to the decision of the Olongapo RTC branch 74, Pemberton is said to have qualified for the GCTA for complying with the regulations enforced by the Bureau of Correction (BuCor) for the good behavior of an inmate.
It will be recalled that Pemberton also paid civil and moral damage to the victim's family of P4.2 million.
Pemberton was first sentenced to 6 to 10 years in prison by Olongapo RTC branch 74 in December 2015 for Laude's murder in Olongapo City on October 11, 2014.
