Gucci's Expensive 'Grass-Stained Jeans' Bashed
Similar to used pants, Gucci releases expensive, grass-stained jeans.
Italian fashion brand Gucci has recently sparked public controversy after releasing its new product line for fall / winter 2020, namely distressed or faded jeans with grass stains.
Gucci is officially releasing a jeans and overalls jeans that are specially made with grass stain details. As part of its new collection, Gucci is selling grass-stained overalls that look pretty well-worn for $1400, and a similar pair of jeans priced at $1200 and passing it off as ‘grunge'.
On its official website, the luxury fashion brand describes its design as the "grunge vibe" of its fall / winter 2020 collection.
The knitted trousers are made from organic cotton which is detailed with faded brown spots alongside grass-like green stains.
"Gucci explores new styles in cult fabrics, reinterpreting with different designs and washing techniques that blur the line between vintage and contemporary," captions on the Gucci website.
Gucci claims that organic cotton residue from the cutting process for that product will be recycled into new materials under the "Gucci Up" program.
Meanwhile, the public, especially social network users, responded to Gucci's grass stain jeans with various comments.
Many of the netizens were surprised at the fantastic price that was priced for one faded pair of jeans. They also suggest making your own by playing on the grass.
"So Gucci makes jeans that have grass stains for 1400 dollars?!?! What's wrong with you! Buy regular jeans. Done," said the account.
