The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is keeping healthcare professionals and the public from buying some food products, including the popular Reno Liver Spread, and food supplements that are not registered by the agency.

Based on the advisory issued by the FDA, their online monitoring and post-marketing surveillance determined that the products were unregistered and did not hold a Certificate of Product Registration (CPR):

Products not registered:

RENO BRAND Liver Spread

MIRACLE WHITE Advance Whitening Capsules

TURCUMIN 100% Natural and Standardized Turmeric Curcumin

DESA Spanish Style Bangus in Corn Oil

SAMANTHA’S DIPS AND SAUCE Spanish Sardines Paste Sauce

According to the FDA, because such products do not go through their evaluation process, there is no guarantee that they are of quality and safe.

The agency called the attention of the establishments to stop selling the aforementioned products until CPR has been issued.

The Bureau of Customs has also urged the FDA to block the entry of other unregistered imported products.

CNN Philippines reported that according to Health Undersecretary Eric Domingo, who is currently FDA Officer-in-Charge, that there is nothing to worry about as long as the brands mentioned comply with the rules, especially Reno liver spread, which has been in market even before the FDA was established.
