Netflix, the world's largest entertainment streaming service, released its own K-pop documentary 'Blackpink: Light Up the Sky' today (Oct. 14).
'Blackpink: Light Up the Sky' depicts the time when the four-member girl group Blackpink, who has become a global star with great love at home and abroad after debuting in 2016, has run fast.
The audition video of Jisoo, Jennie, Rose, and Lisa will be released for the first time, and the past and present are included from the trainee days to the preparation process for the first full album 'THE ALBUM'.
When asked about the opportunity to shoot the documentary at the 'Blackpink: Light Up the Sky' global event, which was held online on the afternoon of the 13th, Jennie replied, "I was convinced that I met a very good person like Director Caroline, and it seems like it was done." "We talked a lot so that we could be comfortable from before the start to the end of the filming. So, I think we were able to capture a more natural look, so thank you very much," and said that director Caroline Suh was so cool.

Director Caroline Suh said, "It's a really nice story to hear," and "Everyone was nice to work with. They were much cooler people than me. In the process of making, the most people asked was 'What was the most difficult thing?', and I'm very interesting and fun. It was because Blackpink is so cool, smart and cool.”
How was the title 'Light Up the Sky' born? "When we asked how we like 'How You Like That' has the lyrics, 'Light Up The Sky', it would be so perfect together, revealed Rosé. Even when is the most shining, I think it's when all four of us are together."
Director Caroline Suh, who did not know anything about K-pop, but learned a lot thanks to her nephew, who is a high school student, also talked about the story she wants to say with 'Blackpink: Light up the Sky'.
She said, "I wanted to show you what kind of path your members have walked since childhood and how they became Blackpink. I wanted to show them after becoming a big 'phenomena'. "She added, "I wanted to talk more personally. I wanted to talk about how each member came to stand in the middle of this BlackPink phenomenon."
Lisa said, "At first it was a little awkward. I'm not used to taking pictures of my daily life. Over time, I forgot I have a camera. I think Director Caroline Suh created a very comfortable atmosphere. Thank you so much."
Jisoo said, "I started with the desire to show a sincere appearance from the beginning, so there was no such burden. We also felt the importance of getting to know each other once again while sharing honest talks. I think I remembered the moments of Blackpink. We started because we wanted to share more of BlackPink, but it was a necessary time for us too.”
Director Caroline Suh recalled the day she first met Blackpink behind the scenes and said, "They were so sincere, fun, kind, and really very kind girls. I was able to see a very new aspect while filming a movie. It is very impressive that I have a really tenacity. "I learned that they have persistence and patience, support and help each other, and are honest without pretense."
When asked if there was anything she wanted to say to herself when she was a trainee, Jenny said, "If we return as trainees, I want to tell you to run while enjoying even that moment. At that time, I want to take my time with the mind that I will have to do one of the monthly evaluations in front of me very well. I didn't really think about it, but what I often say so far was that it was really fun. It seems like we were there and became strong. I want to say, 'If you do well and work hard, you will become black pink.'"
