'Hum to Search' - Google lets you find a song you cant name
Now you just need to strive to hum faithfully enough the melody of the song that doesn't come out of your head.
"Hum hum pa! Hum hum pa! ” - do you know what song this is? The Google certainly yes.
On Thursday (15), the company announced a new feature to find music on the web. With the “Hum to Search” it will be possible to hum a small piece of that song that does not leave your head so that the tool returns with results about the song.
It was presented during the Search On event, and according to the company it does not require the user to know the name of the artist, the lyrics of the song and not even the perfect tone.
"Hum to Search" lets you play "What's the Music" with Google - just like the auditorium programs from the 70s and 80s.

To begin, say the command “Ok, Google. What song is this? ”. Then just hum, whistle or sing a melody for 10 to 15 seconds. You can also use the function by tapping on the microphone icon on the Google widget and saying “What song is this?”
After displaying their musical skills to Google, the algorithm of machine learning will search for songs that fit most likely in the melody you provided. So, just click on the corresponding result to have more options, such as listening to the music, watching the video clip or exploring more information.

With the aid of artificial intelligence, the search engine is able to transform the audio provided by you into a sequence of numbers that represent the melody of the song. From there, it is easier to arrive at combinations and probable results - without the need for an instrumental background or the official lyrics.
The feature is currently available in English for iPhone ( iOS ) users. On Android , the function comprises more than 20 languages, the company plans to expand the number of languages in the future.
