Trump and Melania positive for coronavirus: 'We are in quarantine, together we will make it.'

The couple took the test after Hope Hicks, a counselor to the president, tested positive. "Hicks is sick". Vice President Mike Pence is negative .

President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania are both positive for coronavirus, based on the test performed. 

Trump himself tweets: "The First Lady and I tested positive for Covid-19. Let's start the quarantine and the healing process right away. TOGETHER we will do it!"

Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner according to CNN reports - are instead negative for the coronavirus.   

Barron Trump, the 14-year-old son of Melania and Donald Trump, also tested negative for the coronavirus. Stephanie Grisham, chief of staff of the first lady, told CNN. 

Hope Hicks, one of Trump's advisors, tested positive for Covid-19 on Thursday. On Tuesday and Wednesday he had flown alongside the president, first accompanying him to Cleveland where the first televised debate of the November presidential election campaign was held. Then in Duluth, Minnesota, where Trump held an outdoor rally.

The president will remain in the White House during the quarantine but "will continue to perform his duties," announced his doctor. A trip to Florida, scheduled for Friday, has already been canceled. 

Hope Hicks, 31, was aboard Air Force One with the President of the United States when he traveled to Cleveland, Ohio, three days ago to participate in the debate against Joe Biden. 

She also traveled with him on Wednesday when he visited Minnesota for an election rally. 

US reporters noted that many of the president's staff apparently refused to wear a face mask in the room while attending the first presidential debate in Cleveland, Ohio. 

 "As too many Americans have done this year, the President of the United States and I are also quarantined at home after testing positive for Covid-19. We feel good and I have postponed all the commitments. to stay safe and we will get out of it together ": US First Lady Melania Trump tweeted on her account.

ABC: "Hope Hicks is sick"
