Comedian Park Ji Sun was found dead with her mother at her residence in the Mapo-gu area on Monday, November 2, 2020. Park Ji Sun passed away at the age of 36.
She is well known in the South Korean entertainment industry because she often performs on the small screen as a host.
According to news reports, Ji-sun's father called the police when he could not contact them both on their phones. When he entered the house with the police, the pair was reportedly already dead.
Based on information circulating, the police are still investigating the cause of the death of Park Ji Sun and her mother. An official statement from the authorities had not yet been released to the public.
Ji-sun was allegedly under treatment for an unspecified health condition and her mother was staying with her. She debuted in 2007 as a comedian and worked on various TV variety shows.
According to some reports, the police suspect it to be a case of suicide.
She is known to be close to K-Pop idols. Apart from being a comedian, Park Ji-sun , born in 1984, also often appeared on the screen to host events. Park Ji Sun was a special host on the variety show Weekly Idol, where NCT was invited as a guest star in March 2020.
She was the star of a popular sitcom entitled High Kick! the third season in 2012.
