According to Big Hit Entertainment, BTS' Agency,  SUGA underwent surgery to repair his torn shoulder on November 3.  SUGA is now well rested following the successful operation that requires time for recovery following the physicians advice.  His shoulder problem has been his persistent problem for the past eight years.

As many fans know, SUGA has long been plagued by shoulder health problems. SUGA's dislocated shoulder was diagnosed in 2013 after an accident in 2012 before his debut. Shoulder pain continued after that, and in 2019, a specialist diagnosed it as "posterior labral tear of his left shoulder," which means that the cartilage around the left shoulder joint was damaged, Since then, he have received various treatments so that it would not interfere with his subsequent activities.

SUGA has various symptoms such as difficulty in raising his arms and sudden pain, and he has been receiving all kinds of rehabilitation and treatment while he is active, but unfortunately he has not seen a significant improvement. Recently, the cycle in which symptoms appear has become shorter, and it has become an obstacle not only to the stage but also to his daily life.

In addition, SUGA decided that it is important to maintain a healthy condition in fulfilling his military service obligations and in order to continue his activities as a singer after military service, and after a long discussion with the company, the decision was made that he should undergo surgery.

Because of his surgery, SUGA will not participate in most official activities except for some schedules for the time being, and will concentrate on his recovery. Once the doctors find that he has recovered steadily, he will undergo rehabilitation and return to the stage in good health. It may be difficult to meet his fans even during the activity period of BTS' new album "BE". The company apologizes to SUGA's fans and ask for their support and understanding.

SUGA said, "I understand the worries, concerns, regrets, and loneliness of our fans. I hope you can think of it as a preparation time to meet you in a healthier way. I can't see you for a while, but please wait. "

Big Hit said that they will continue to make further efforts for the health and safety of all artists.
