Veteran Korean boyband Super Junior are back. During a media conference on Tuesday they announced their return with their 10th studio album "The Renaissance."
The music video for their lead track “House Party” was also released on the same day.
"House Party," which is about living in the "new normal," is a catchy disco-pop number that mixes uplifting guitar sounds with trendy melodies and trap music.
The video showed Super Junior throwing a house party while singing about the social distancing restrictions caused by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
"The Renaissance" was released on March 16 after being pushed back for several months. They were supposed to release their album last December 2020 but was delayed twice. Instead, the boyband released "Star," a Japanese compilation album, to celebrate their 15th year anniversary as a group.
“We were supposed to release it in December last year but wanted to push it to better quality,” said Leeteuk. "With the LP that came out that day, fans will understand why the timeline was moved," he said.
The 10 track album features the previously released single "The Melody," along with its music video, in November to celebrate their 15th anniversary.
“EPs and singles are quite common these days but we’re coming out with an album filled with 10 tracks,” Eunhyuk said. “We’ve put a lot of effort (into the album) and the title track in particular, so hopefully you’ll love it,” he added.
